Our Reality Check

We who do not own small farms, who are dependent on corporations to supply our food and energy, and/or who are too independent for our own good may well need a good personal reality check about now. It may well be time for us to accurately assess our present circumstances and our own long term plans for soundness and practicality.

Our first look can be at the global food and energy circumstances we find ourselves within. Thirty companies, many of which are global, now collectively generate some 2.94 trillion dollars (US) in annual revenues providing us with food and energy. These major players will continue to merge and control these resources more for their own benefits than for ours.

To know how much this is so, we need answers to such questions as who are the largest owners of these 30 companies, how much of their ownership is held by China’s Strategic Investment Fund, how many of them are planning mergers right now, and their intentions for our care as their customers. We might also remember the track records of our own governments in representing all of their citizens, not just the special interest groups. We could profit from knowing who are the present day’s most powerful proponents of the Communist Manifesto and just who are the real owners (including the Illuminati) of the partially private global central bank of central banks, namely the Bank for International Settlements of Basel, Switzerland, which appears to be the financial component of the New World Order. However bleak our circumstances appear, there are some very positive general and specific strategies we can take to care for ourselves and our loved ones in the days ahead. Our most basic move can simply be, just as stated in Proverbs 16:3, to commit our works (very lives) to our God (through His Savior), so that He and our Father can establish our plans (according to our Father’s will). It would seem that our plans still need to be realistic and practical to some degree and also have sound personal motives behind them.

There are three general strategies that appear most practical for anyone, regardless of how deep their pockets might be. First, is for us to come to know better and to walk with our Lord and Savior. Next, would be for us to do intelligent preparedness planning for tougher times ahead. And finally, we can wisely be in real community with other people that we trust and live near to. Alternative electric power plants and greenhouse farming are certainly easiest to develop at the small community or village level of technology and equipment.

Other specific strategies for us today include learning to be content (but not indifferent) about whatever circumstances we find ourselves within (Philippians 4:11), yet also to put strategies in place using multiple advisors to deal with our circumstances subject to our Father’s direction and redirection (Proverbs 20:18; 16:9; 15:22), to revive our concerns for one another (Philip 4:10), and to learn to share with one another in our afflictions (Philip 4:14; and 2 Cor 8:5-15).
