RESPONDING TO CAUSES OF GLOBAL FOOD & ENERGY CRISES
Most of the present hunger-related deaths on God’s planet earth are happening in regions with no oil, insufficient food, and unending conflict. Since there are solutions for the causes and circumstances, these deaths are termed preventable. Other needless deaths unfortunately happen daily in third world areas where adequate health care facilities are absent due to an absence of any electric power grid or any alternative appropriate communi…

Our Reality Check
We who do not own small farms, who are dependent on corporations to supply our food and energy, and/or who are too independent for our own good may well need a good personal reality check about now. It may well be time for us to accurately assess our present circumstances and our own long term plans for soundness and practicality.
Our first look can be at the global food and energy circumstances we find ourselves within. Thirty companies, many of which are global, now collect…

MOVING FORWARD
God’s grace to you and to your loved ones. I have been thinking about strategies to help the landless and the poorest peoples wherever they are found. We have many such people who are oppressed and in harm’s way. Our Lord loves them, each one to be sure! Our own welfare as God’s people has at times and very possibly now been contingent upon our willingness to pray for and also help those around us. You may see my article entitled “Prayer in This Hour” for more on this subject of…

OUTREACH CHALLENGE
For those who have a present desire to reach out and meet crying subsistence needs of poor people at your own locale or another specific region for a little farm land, alternative electric power, greenhouse farming technology, or for any combination of these needs, the means of doing this are now available to you.
A first step is to use the attached community development form to inventory the most pressing needs, likely solutions, and sources of land and community help. Comm…

Lives Displaced
Woe to those who join house to house,
Who add field to field
Until there is no room for any but themselves
In all the land!
And the harvest of grain will be but
a tenth of the seed that is sown.
Isaiah 5:8,10b J. B. Phillips
The rest of this story is written
In the lives of those without a place,
Of our displaced with no land to till,
Of our refugees with disappearing face,
Of our homeless forever still,
Of our starving in each race.

The above scripture wi…

HEART CARE FOR CHRISTIANS
Since we often talk some about people’s unseen hearts, it is interesting to examine what that heart is. While we each have a physical heart that provides physical life to our entire being, we also have a spiritual parallel to our physical heart that is simply called our heart in a number of Bible verses.
This spiritual heart is believed to be our innermost being including our whole personality and morals. Scriptures such as Matt 22:37 and Phil 4:7 indicate this heart…

SOLUTIONS TO OUR GLOBAL FOOD & ENERGY CRISES
UN estimates indicate that there are 86 food deficit nations, 35 nations currently in a food crisis, and 26 water deficient countries. About 39% of our world’s population is not served by any electric grid, with 25% without even emergency power. Christianity Today reported 25,000 people were estimated to starve to death daily in their Nov. 2008 article on world hunger.
One root cause is the agriculture that once produced food for direct human co…

PROSPERING
Can we now do in the flesh for Jesus
What we could only do in the spirit,
When we started our walk with Jesus?
Beloved, when is our soul’s prosperity measly
Or equal to the summation of our possessions,
Which are the Father’s and evaporate so easily?
Who has claimed God’s promises with a song,
Not meeting every condition while living for Him,
A sweet sacrifice unto the One we belong?

In the first part of 2007, my Father showed me some things in His Word about the importance of intercessory prayer for us in the United States of America at this time in our history that I will tell you about.
When our Father was sending His people into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon, He spoke these words to “all” of them in Jeremiah 29:7, “And seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will have welfare.”
These…

COMMUNITY DESTINATIONS
In any endeavor, it is fitting to know where we wish to end up before spending much time and capital to get there. Community is no exception. A physical model like the Amana Colonies, an Israeli moshav, or our 640 acre community model in my Building Community 2009 course lesson 6 are excellent destinations if and only if the spiritual life and integrity of New Testament community are also included.
The only way to measure the integrity of community life and its leaders i…

MYSTERY BABYLON
Mystery Babylon is a term sometimes given to Babylon the Great or the Mother of Harlots spoken of extensively in chapters 17 and 18 of the Book of Revelation. So the question arises, who is she and what is her significance?
More than 17 descriptive things are mentioned about this harlot in these chapters. She rides upon the first beast (the antichrist of Rev 13:1-7) suggesting that she gets her power and authority from him (Rev 17:7). The antichrist and 10 kings hate the harlot…

Father, forgive us for thinking
We are more spiritual than we are.
Forgive our prideful thinking
And our falling so very far.
Please forgive our waiting for You,
While You have been waiting too.
Waiting for us to do Your Word today,
And to share Your love come what may.
Forgive us watch as the starved perish,
For us just observing as so many lose,
For gossiping about those You cherish,
Each Your Son died to choose.
Please cause us to see our hearts,
To see ourselves as we really are
And turn…
