A Short Bio of OneGod1 / Rev. Elder Marty Wright
Greetings, saints, in the name of our One True God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!
My name is Martin Wright (better known as "Marty"). I am 48 years old, and have been baptized in the Holy Ghost since December 26, 1976 (I can actually show you the spot at the altar where it happened! At about 9:40pm.). That was a Pentecostal Church of God. I guess you could say that we were the "last generation" of trinitarian Pentecostals that were schooled in the old ways of personal holiness. Our mode of attire and conduct would put many of today's Apostolics to shame!
It was there (Faith Tabernacle PCOG) that the Lord called me to pastor (March, 1977), and several of the "bigwigs" in the PCOG confirmed this. However, I knew something was missing from my life. I somehow had a sneaking suspicion there was still more to experience in the Lord, but I had no idea what it was.
One Saturday evening, while driving a buddy home from a young people's prayer meeting, the Lord pointed out a church building to me and said, "That's the church where you'll find what you're looking for." The next day was Sunday and I attended Sunday School and Morning Worship at the PCOG...but on Sunday night, I attend worship at the building the Lord had pointed out to me.
The church was South Flint Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, and the pastor, Bishop Nathaniel Wilson, preached on water baptism. If I was the Christian that I claimed I was, I would present myself as a candidate for immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, since the Scriptural record and early Church history shows that everyone that came to Jesus in sincere repentance was water baptized in Jesus'name.
A short time later in private prayer, like a flash, the revelation of the Mighty God in Christ hit me! Like a ton of bricks! Praise God! The witness of the Holy Ghost was so absolute that I accepted it without question! What I had been looking for had been found!!
As far as Apostolic organizations are concerned, I guess one could say I've been around the block a few times, and I've witnessed behaviours out of Pastors, 'pretty-boy' evangelists, and Ministers that would make sinners blush in embarassment. Church organizations have never saved anyone! Only Jesus Christ does the saving! If one obeys His word and does what it says, he is saved...regardless.
Currently, I am Senior Bishop of a church called Christian Life Center in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan.
I am General Overseer of an organization known as the Christian Pentecostal Church International.

Please bear with me saints -- the Children of Azusa Street -- . I thank the Lord that I have known Him as the great Savior and Redeemer from sin in my life since I was a little boy of seven years old (1969) in the Holiness Movement. I experienced the wonderful Baptism in the Holy Ghost at the age of 15, and the great revelation of Jesus' name and His absolute Deity at the age of 16.
I truly thank the Lord for the International Circle of Friendship, and the Children of Azusa Street. There …

Remember when we lived Revival? I try very hard not to be one of those "fogies" that are lost somewhere in the "good old days of Pentecost". I do thank the Lord for the strides that have been made in the Movement. Joel's prophecy (Joel 2) has turned out not to be an "Evangelist's trick" to get us shouting and running aisles, but a truth that is being fulfilled right before our very eyes! God's Spirit IS being poured out upon all Mankind, and the Lord IS adding to the church daily such as shou…

For me, being a Pentecostal Christian is the most wondrous thing that ever could have happened! Of course, Truth, and knowing Christ take the cake, but what is Truth? In John 14:6, the Lord said of Himself, "I am the way the truth and the life..." The Scripture is indeed plain regarding as to how one comes into proper union with God and receives Him into her/his life: "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and ye…
